On September the 14th, the University of Nottingham hosted a non-coding RNA seminar, organized by Exiqon, a Danish company developing advanced tools for RNA and miRNAs based research. I have been in touch with Exiqon since starting my PhD. They organized this seminar with the purpose of building a non-Coding RNA Network in the UK. I did not expect to be invited but they kindly asked me to present my project. I was really excited about that and it was a great experience for me, as well as a good opportunity to talk about our TRAIN Network. I was able to meet PhD students, Post-doc researchers and Professors all involved in different research areas with a unique common denominator, investigating the role of non-coding RNAs. The seminar was organized in three sessions for a total of nine speakers from different UK institutions including Warwick, Birmingham, Aston and Keele. Each talk was really pertinent and relevant to the subject and I had much positive feedback. This is a really recent discovered field that still requires intense investigations. Hence the need of creating a network and exchange our knowledge and experience about it. I am looking forward to the next seminar.
